Sonora Cimarron
Sonora Cimarrón was established in
2004, and has a growing reputation after several concertsi n Oslo,
Trondheim and Denmark. The idea was to create a band with a broad musical
heritage from all over Latin-America combining african, indian and
european traditions. The band plays music like Festejo, Andarele and Cumbia
as well as Cuban and Puerto Rican music. The band is known for playing
excellent dancing music

In 1985 Sverre Indris Joner went to Cuba to
explore the secrets of cuban music. He returned to Norway and established
the first Norwegian Salsa Orchestra LA DESCARGA together with a Cuban singer
and four Norwegian jazz musicians. Two years later the performed for the
first time and this year they can
celebrate 20 years anniversary as the better salsa orchestra in Norway.
The musical style salsa, cha-cha-cha,
timba, funky songp and bomba.
